Technical Upgrade Underway on FAA Navigational Aids for Landing Aircraft at Bob Hope Airport

Repairs Expected to Be Completed First Week of August; Aircraft Approaching Burbank Airport from West May Fly Slightly Different Path

BURBANK, Calif., July 31, 2009 – Landing aircraft approaching Bob Hope Airport from the west that normally use the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) instrument landing system (ILS) to assist navigation are using alternate facilities while upgrades to the ILS are being performed, according to the FAA.
