Airport Awards $1.3 Million Contract to Install Chargers for Electrified Airline Ground Equipment; Southwest to Get New Equipment in September, and Other Airlines Likely to Follow Suit in Transition to Electric Vehicles

BURBANK, California, August 30, 2004 – A program intended to install battery chargers for new Southwest Airlines electric ground service equipment (eGSE) at Bob Hope Airport has grown in scope as other airlines have indicated they will also increase the use of battery-operated vehicles.
